DK SteakHouse
A Case Study
As part of the DK Restaurants family of Restaurants, DK Kodama has been a fixture in the Hawaii food scene for over 20 years with his signature Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar. In 2004 he decided to take the plunge and open up a steak house in the heart of Waikiki.
The original DK Steakhouse website, while a great looking site had fundamental flaws that needed to be fixed. This includes using Flash generated slide shows, not mobile friendly and updates had to happen by uploading PDF’s of the menus. And in fact the site was forwarding to a Duda Mobile branded mobile site.
The new design worked to incorporate all the things that make a good restaurant website, and played to the brand. This included a strong visible phone number at the top, strong call to actions above the fold, and menus in expandable toggles that were mobile responsive. We also incorporated an Open Table widget as well as a newsletter subscription.
The great thing is, the site is easy to use for the busy restaurant manager. Specials can be updated on the home page using a standard “word processor” like interface. In addition, it incorporates a menu system that styles menu items and add pictures.
Attention was brought to cohesion amongst the other sites in the portfolio. Layouts were substantially similar between sites to ensure continuity. We also moved them over to an email marketing system keeping them in compliance with the law, but also allowing them to measure the effectiveness of their newsletters.
I have worked with multiple restaurants and I can help you design a high converting website designed to put customers in your seat. Just reach out and find out, what we can do for you.
